CRL's 300 Series Heavy Plate Wet Seal Panel System utilizes threaded studs welded to the back of the plate. These studs secure a full length aluminum mounting extrusion to the back of the plate with nuts. The panels come with the mounting extrusion already attached, so all that is necessary is to align the panel on the substrate or hat channel and check to be sure the 1/2 inch (12 millimeter) joint is correct. The mounting extrusion can then be secured to the substrate or the hat channel with self-drilling Tek screws. Next, roll in the foam backer rod to the proper depth and seal with silicone sealant. This system is often used in geographic areas that are subject to severe weather conditions. The strength of the 1/4 inch (6.3 millimeter) plate is less subject to damage and can withstand most conditions. After plans have been approved we will fabricate your order in a timely fashion at our 270,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, California.
